Before entering the gemstone industry, our founder spent over 20 years in international trading and distribution, working with overseas suppliers, buyers, logistics, and cross-border business operations. This extensive career built a strong foundation in:

Our Journey into the Gem Industry
Following formal studies in gem identification and advanced gemological training, the founder’s path naturally progressed into hands-on involvement in mining. Over the past ten years, the founder of Varna Gem has:
- Participated in artisanal and small-scale mining operations
- Gained direct access to key mining regions such as Elahera and Ratnapura
- Built strong, long-term relationships with miners and trusted local dealers
- Bought and traded rough, cut, and polished gemstones locally, further refining expertise in selection and grading
This blend of gemological knowledge and practical field experience forms the foundation of our expertise today.
